Joanna Kinowska

Joanna Kinowska, curator (Poland)

Art historian specialising in photography. Independent curator of photography exhibitions and editor of photo books. Works at Służewski Culture Centre, where she is responsible for education programmes, and in particular the Photography Place. In 2005–2014 she worked at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, in the education department, in charge of programmes including those concerning photography. Author of texts about photography, columnist for Digital Photographer Polska; founder of the blog “MIEJSCE FOTOGRAFII” (“Photography place”). Teaches at the Academy of Photography in Warsaw. Designs and leads “Thinking about photography” workshops, whose participants learn to select the appropriate form to present their own work.
